Communication is at the heart of community building – it is what brings us together and allows us to make our dreams a reality. Communication has also been at the center of what I do both personally and professionally for the last 15 years – therefore, I put my communication skills to action this past year to restore a beloved Irish American community center in CT, help CT entrepreneurs launch new businesses, and build new international relationships that seek to bring economic growth to CT.

Raised over $320,000 in charitable funding in four months for the Irish American Home Community Center. Supported the launch and growth of 10 new CT businesses as part of UConn Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CCEI) Summer Fellowship program. Provided more than 2 dozen business communication training workshops for CT based entrepreneurs. Led communication efforts and strategy that helped to secure funding for UConn & CCEI’s brand new BUILD Hartford program.

As the Assistant Director of Communication & Program Development at the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Rory has been instrumental in the development of our startups & the growth of our center. His instruction in our CCEI Summer Fellowship program has significantly increased the "pitch readiness" of the founders. He also recently crafted two new programs: BUILD Hartford & the Business Consulting Accelerator, allowing us to offer additional opportunities for UConn students.
