Restoring You Wellness Center, LLC (RYWC) is a private counseling practice and consulting agency located in Connecticut and Tennessee. RYWC offers therapy options for clients of all ages to help you along the journey to a better you. We also offer developmental screenings for children, attachment and bonding consultation, life coaching, and self sufficiency programs. The outreach program provides services to at-risk populations that experience a higher risk of poverty and social exclusion.

Tell us about the entrepreneurial milestones you accomplished?

SOC mental health professionals have helped over 2000 people with establishing and attaining SMART goals to help restore lives to a higher level of functioning and have help them access appropriate social services that assisted with: Housing ResourcesBudgetingFinancial Benefits Medical and Dental CareVocational or Educational ServicesSocial SupportTransportation

What CT entrepreneur ecosystem resources have helped you succeed?

I am a Field Instructor for the Quinnipiac University Department of Social Work MSW Program. I have provided direct care to individuals and families for over 11 years assisting parents with developmental concerns, attachment and bonding, trauma and mood regulation consultation. Through my partnership with Quinnipiac University we have helped students with field placements during the hardest times of the Coronavirus pandemic. We have also provided employment to some of those students.

RYWC and founder Brittney Jackson have taken over the streets of our low income cities and has brought services and supplies to the community.

Tell us about your community building activities in 2020?

We partnered with community agencies to provide basic needs to the community and increase mental health awareness.

What community building goals did you accomplish or milestones did you hit in 2020?

We provided mental health services to over 2000 people through community outreach efforts.

Nominator Justification

RYWC Has uplifted theu community with services and supplies like no other organization has done in the past. Supplies from basic necessity to, beds, coats, brand new shoes and boots, fridge, stoves, etc. Whatever she has available clients will be offered at no fee and she delivers the supplies with her own company's truck!!!

Program

Describe your program

The SOC programs work to empower people to build on their own strengths and capabilities. Programs are entrenched in their communities and contribute to the community-building process. Our programs also help to link communities to social service resources to support individuals during their journey by addressing obstacles they may face.

What are the coolest, most popular features of your program?

The coolest part of our program is our focus on decreasing the stigma associated with mental health and increasing mental health awareness. Second, is that if we cannot find a resource we provide it ourselves.

What impact did your program make in 2020?

We provided mental health services to over 2000 people through community outreach efforts.
