Tell us about your community building activities in 2020?

Through KNOWN Coworking we launched the KNOWNPRENEURS program, a 16 week business accelerator for emerging BIPOC business looking to growth and scale their oeprations

What community building goals did you accomplish or milestones did you hit in 2020?

We showcased 60 local New Haven businesses, graduated 22 ventures through our accelerator program, celebrate more the 40 networking events half of them virtual. Delivered free Coworking access and use to more to 50 low income entrepreneurs.

Nominator Justification

Known Coworking is an ESO aimed at increasing the # of Black and Latin business owners. The KNOWNpreneurs Growth Lab (KGL) was created to train, mentor and support BIPOC entrepreneurs. In 2021, KGL has served 2 cohorts (23 total) and is recruiting its 3rd cohort. Known is working toward becoming a hub for creating sustainability and growth by also becoming a marketplace and funding liaison in addition to its current KGL program and the physical space it provides for New Haven area entrepreneurs.
