Reliefwax is an all-natural scented leather conditioner that relieves stress and anxiety. I battled anxiety in high school, and with the growing rates of anxiety nationwide, I wanted to do something to help especially in my favorite sport of baseball. I was introduced to aromatherapy from my mother and combined it with my hobby of baseball and softball glove care. In a few months, I came up with a conditioner that fights anxiety both on and off the field.
Tell us about the entrepreneurial milestones you accomplished?
After coming up with the idea in January of 2020, I successfully launched my business and made my first sale in 6 months since the conception of Reliefwax. I received no additional outside funding, while starting a business during a pandemic, all while pursuing a continued baseball career and an MBA at Post University.
What type of entrepreneur are you?
Scalable Venture - regional, national, or global business focus
What CT entrepreneur ecosystem resources have helped you succeed?
I have received mentorship and guidance from Post University's Entrepreneurship Center, which has been an enormous help. With the 2020 pandemic, it has been very difficult to network and attend events, but I have been in constant contact with the University's Entrepreneurship Center Director Brandon Monti.
What would you do if you played baseball your entire life, worked hard to play D2 ball, just to have your senior year season ripped from you due to a pandemic? This is exactly what happened to Jared in 2020. However, Jared decided he wouldn't let it stop him from achieving another dream, to launch a business that would help baseball players battle anxiety on the field through a unique glove care conditioner infused with aromatherapy. He launched in 3 months with a website and retail partners.
