Digital Media Connecticut (DMCT) has emerged as a collaborative of CT higher education institutions working to support the talent pipeline in digital media and content production. Working in partnership with the Connecticut Office of Film, Television, and Digital Media, the DMCT collaborative provides a platform to connect high school and university students toward a successful career in Connecticut's growing digital media industry.
How do you train, educate or prepare entrepreneurs
Digital Media Connecticut (DMCT) produces content involving entrepreneurship featuring digital media industry experts/professionals. For example, episode 12 in our Select+CT podcast, "Building a Digital Media Company," features CEOs and founders who share their experiences on entrepreneurship; David Salinas, Co-Founder of Digital Surgeons and Innovation District in New Haven / Pete Sena, Co-Founder, and CEO of Digital Surgeons.
What impact did your program have in 2020?
Over the past year, DMCT produced a variety of resources for both students and digital media professionals:
-We produced a Manifesto focusing on education toward the digital media industry, which engaged over 20 professionals from various digital media-related fields
-We produced the "Select+CT" podcast (available on all platforms), as well as our YouTube series, "Let’s Talk Media!"
-We responded to the BLM movement, which represents our commitment to improving the opportunities for all
Digital Media Connecticut, in the past year, has continued to act on its mission to work with higher education institutions to support the digital media talent pipeline in the State of Connecticut despite the devastating pandemic. The organization has launched a live YouTube series featuring industry professionals as they share their experiences and insight. Secondly, the organization also launched a podcast series (available on iTunes & Spotify), called "Select+CT."
