I have opened mental health, medical, and dental clinic that is mental health/sensory adaptive. I have opened a virtual and metaverse special education college preparatory school that is partnered with local community collegesI have opened a low-income housing community that provides equitable access to rich and luxury housing for low-income familiesI have received the 40 under 40 award of Connecticut

In 2013, Marrero founded The L.E.O Clinic (Latin Enrichment Organization) which has evolved from elderly mental health care to a children’s mental health care clinic. With five locations in Hartford and East Hartford, the clinic offers after-school programs for at-risk youth as well as in-home treatment options for children and families. Seeking to break down barriers and stigmas surrounding mental health and wellness, Marrero in 2019 developed an extended-day treatment facility for individuals

Winter Enrichment Bags-Provide seasonal clothing, hygiene supplies, and resources to the community/homeless Plant a Tooth Event-The dentist and dental staff go into the low-income housing communities to plant vegetables for the community garden Mobile Clinic-Provide free dental, medical, and behavioral health assessments at local shelters and community events such as the toddler and pre-k programs Free Turkeys to families in the area for the Holidays and 2 full free dinners

Nominator Justification

From an early age, Marrero knew he had the power to change his community. As an ambitious student at East Hartford High School, Marrero received his certified nursing assistant certificate through Capital Community College before his high school diploma. His work led him to care for the elderly, including his beloved grandfather who at the time had progressing Alzheimer’s. Caring for the elderly helped Marrero discover the need for additional mental health services within his community.

I have supported 39 people in 2020 with opening their own businesses. This month I have opened a coffee shop and mobile jewlery store

I have currently opened a special education virtual middle and high school for students with mental health struggles as well as provide school-based clinic services to existing schools in the area

I provide 1:1 couching, space availability, marketing experience, and much more
