Accelerate UConn is endorsed by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and uses the I-Corps framework to provide specialized support to UConn entrepreneurs. The program aims to help faculty or student-led teams determine the commercial potential for their technology and develop strategies for bringing ventures to the market.

What are the coolest, most popular features of your program?

Accelerate UConn propels selected teams through 7 weeks of unique programming based on the Business Model Canvas and Lean Launchpad methodology. Each team receives individualized coaching from industry experts and has the opportunity to leverage extensive resources, including up to $3,000 in funding.

What impact did your program make in 2020?

Faculty, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates that have completed the program have also been accepted into other programs, received additional funding from external sources, and have successfully filed patents. In 2020, the program graduated over 130 teams across 13 cohorts. Since then, Accelerate UConn has seen a growing pool of applicants. This year, Accelerate UConn cohorts were held virtually and saw impressive engagement and success from participants.

In 2020, the program graduated over 130 teams across 13 cohorts, seeing an increase in engagement with the program being held completely virtual.
