What are the coolest, most popular features of your space? (<500 characters)
Upward Hartford is known for its Idea Wall, a 30-foot installation of magnetic post-it notes, where Citizens and visitors alike leave business ideas and their contact information, inspiring future collaborations. Upward promotes a healthy balance of work AND play, with a ping-pong and billiards table for mid-day, happy hour, or ANY time game play. Our futuristic zen booths offer Citizens and visitors additional privacy for phone calls, webinar or podcast recordings. Our 6'x9' video wall is a favorite among event hosts, offering a clear medium for workshop, conference, or fun event presentations.
What impact did your space make in 2019? (<500 characters)
In 2019, Upward Labs, Connecticut's first tech pilot program, welcomed its first cohort of AgeTech and PropTech startups from across the globe to live in Hartford and work on their cutting-edge technologies from Upward Hartford's workspace. Upward Hartford also became home to GalaxE Solutions, a New Jersey-based tech company that hired nearly 30 local employees within 2019 alone, and are now approaching upwards of 50+ in the first few weeks of the New Year. Our other resident companies continue to hire local talent across industries, expanding their footprint and impact within the Greater Hartford Area. In 2020, Upward On Trumbull, the state's first co-living space, will serve as a communal home base for entrepreneurs, corporates, and downtown Hartford residents.
