Experience Camps are free one-week camps for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. It's a place where kids can laugh, cry, play, create, remember the person who died, or forget the grief that weighs them down. It's a place where they can feel "normal", because everyone there has been through something similar and understands what it's like to lose someone important to them.

We have seen an incredible response from our local community, primarily in our signature Day of Champions event, which brings together 400 local residents, adults and children, for a day of family fun and competitive challenges to raise money and awareness for Experience Camps. Everyone from Camp Mahackeno, to local businesses who sponsor the event, to a powerhouse committee of volunteers that plan and execute the event, to local news outlets (Channel 12 and Dan Woog) have given us increased visibility across all platforms. We occupy office space in downtown Westport and feel very connected to the Main Street initiatives to promote business growth in this area. Our (soon-to-be new mom) COO even recently started a call to action to provide women with a downtown location for pumping!
