OurCampus is every college student’s one-stop-shop for all campus information. Our vision is to create a mobile and web application to support all campus needs, ranging from events, to professor and class ratings, to transportation, and much more. College students are a diverse group of individuals, all looking for answers to similar questions. Rather than using Facebook and other outdated platforms, OurCampus aims to create a platform that is cogently designed to optimize efficiency.OurCampus puts all this information in one location, with the added ability to connect and network with your current classmates.
Tell us about the milestones your venture accomplished in 2019, eg., key team members added, revenue level achieved, major sales made or endorsements received, successful exit, etc... (<500 characters)
OurCampus took over Wesleyan University by storm. When the app initially launched in March 2019, OurCampus had over 800 downloads within the first month. Since then, OC is on the phones of 70% of students and has over 500 daily users. The application was started by Rafael Goldstein and Tyler Lederer-Plaskett, but since the founding they have on boarded another three members: David Baraka, Sean Kim, and Kevin Koech, three different developers working on the Android and web-based applications. While the app has not yet produced revenue, we aim to expand to other institutions in the next year to prove that there is a demand from college students for a new social media.

What CT entrepreneur ecosystem resources (spaces, programs, events, schools, etc.) have helped you succeed? (<500 characters)
Our main advisor and mentor, Makaela Kingsley, has given us tremendous support and guidance throughout the whole development of the app. Makaela along with various Wesleyan alumni entrepreneurs such as Peter Frank and Jean-Pierre Adechi have given incredible insight into what it means to be a young entrepreneur. Furthermore, last year we were selected as a finalist for the 23rd CT Collegiate Business Plan Competition. While we came up short of our goal to win the mobile-app pitch competition, the experience served as a terrific look into the entrepreneurship scene in Connecticut.
What people are saying about Rafael Goldstein and Tyler Lederer-Plaskett...
When Tyler Lederer-Plaskett and Rafael Goldstein, two undergraduates at Wesleyan University, saw a need for a campus-based app that would help students choose classes and find out about events, they decided to build one themselves. Tyler led business development while Raf coded the app, and in a short time, OurCampus (http://ourcampus.us.com) had thousands of downloads and posts. OurCampus is very early stage but poised for rapid growth. Definitely one to watch! Makaela Kingsley
