Our mission is to positively impact lives by enabling access, innovation, and education. Within our 25,000 sf commercial space in Downtown Hartford, businesses and entrepreneurs are empowered to develop skills, make connections and launch ideas. MakerspaceCT is designed to support an almost limitless variety of fabrication processes for product development and prototyping: CAD Design, CNC Machining and Routing, Metal Fabrication, 3D Printing, Laser Engraving, Digital Fabrication and much more.
What are the coolest, most popular features of your space? (<500 characters)
Entrepreneurs have the resources to develop innovative products with our advanced design and manufacturing resources, including access to advanced CAD and 3D design solutions, Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, CNC milling and routing, metal fabrication and digital fabrication. People and projects thrive within a collaborative community that fosters the sharing of ideas, advice, and knowledge.
What impact did your space make in 2019? (<500 characters)
MakerspaceCT had its grand opening in April 2019. Access to our shops, educational programming and events serve entrepreneurs in a variety of diverse industries including manufacturing, IOT and AI technology, engineering, fashion and more. We supported neighboring accelerators at Stanley Black and Decker + Techstars and Upward Labs. Our LauncHartford scholarship program provided free training and memberships to over 150 people, including a number of startups and small business owners.
