As a community, we’ve come together to use the power of innovation to help our city—and our residents—make the next big leap forward. And in Hartford, there’s a way for everyone to get involved. We’re building new spaces for innovators to connect in ways that bring new possibilities to life. We’re launching programs that link industry experts with technology pioneers to help shape the future of our connected world. And, we’re connecting the next wave of talent to a whole new set of career opportunities right here in our own backyard. How are you engaged/involved in supporting/advocating for the CT entrepreneur ecosystem? (<500 characters)

Launc[H]artford is proud to be a convener, connector and champion of efforts to make the Hartford region a place where innovators and entrepreneurs can succeed easily. For the past three years, Launc[H]artford has worked with countless partner organizations, including local corporations, higher education institutions, government agencies, and community stakeholders to co-invest in initiatives that bring new entrepreneurs to our community, support growing businesses by connecting them to resources they need to capture market opportunity, and to help activate innovation talent. Initiatives supported by Launc[H]artford include: Hartford InsurTech Hub, Nassau Re/Imagine, InsurTech Hartford, Goodwin Insurance Institute, Digital Health CT, StartupWeek Hartford, Manufacturing in Motion, MakerspaceCT, reSET, Girls for Technology, YMCA’s Teen Tech Center, Small State Great Beer’s Innovation Zone, Winterfest, Riverfront Recapture Outdoors Programming, CT Science Center, International Hartford, University of Hartford Women’s Center, and CTPublic.


What improved in the CT entrepreneur ecosystem due to your involvement/advocacy in 2019? (<500 characters)

From July 2017-September 2019, Launc[H]artford has returned the following direct results for Hartford’s growing innovation ecosystem. 365 Entrepreneurial Events 60,695 Event Attendees 4,291 Mentoring Hours 21,120 Hours Spent on Programs 67 New Jobs Created 121 Jobs Retained or Supported 53 Companies Created 106 Companies Scaled $15.9M Investment in Programming In addition, over 35 startups now have a presence in Hartford, that didn’t two years ago.


What people are saying about Launc[H]artford...

 Michelle and Jessica lead the LauncH Hartford initiative and coordinate a massive effort to bring innovation and entrepreneurship to the Hartford region. Examples of their work can be seen in the successes enjoyed by the Digital Health CT accelerator, Insurtech Hartford, Small State Great Beer, Riverfront Recapture, Makerspace Hartford, and the list goes on.
