Company/organization description (<500 characters)

CTFI serves as a professional film-making resource for Connecticut creatives of every niche. We foster togetherness through the production of award winning original films that best showcase the strengths of CT artists, while encouraging the growth of lucrative job opportunities in the state. CTFI officially launched the Film For Therapy movement, to utilize our revolutionary concept of film-making as a healing form of art therapy.

How are you engaged/involved in the CT entrepreneur ecosystem? (<500 characters)

What began as a social movement, our entrepreneurial development, "Film For Therapy" has grown to become it's own entity as a 501c3 organization. This has allowed for our initiative to expand beyond the creative community of CT, by establishing and highlighting partnerships with fellow non- profit organizations. We are able to both raise awareness for social causes through our documentary pieces, serve as advocates for social change and, especially, shine a spotlight on the work of the entrepreneurs who have established organizations designed for the greater good.

What impact did your CT entrepreneur ecosystem involvement yield in 2019? (<500 characters)

Showcasing the work of CT natives entirely, CTFI's original films are making an impact within the CT community and beyond. In 2019, one of our films was recognized as official screening selection of the Mystic International Film Festival, another, in the national Kate Bosworth "She Directed" competition for female directors. CTFI was a featured finalist of the 48 Hour Film Project, which afforded CT creatives the opportunity to be named winners of a Best Sound Design award (with 4 additional nominations). Press and marketing via news outlets, talk shows etc, allowed us to highlight the organizations providing this recognition, along with the works of non-profits featured in our documentaries, and the individual talent from our state selected for each film project.
